SPRENGER bit advice at our CHIO Village stand
We’re really looking forward to advising you on bits! Feel free to pop round to our tent at any time. But if you know in advance that you’d like to talk to us about your horse and bit, we’ve got a few tips to make the most of your visit:
1. Take a close look at the bit you’re currently using. Feel free to take a photo of it or even bring it with you. That way, we can see straight away which bit you’re currently riding with and assess it more effectively.
2. To assess the bit size, it’s always helpful if you
take a look at the bit in your horse’s mouth. Feel free to take a photo or even a video from all angles; then we can look at it together to see if the bit width and girth fit. In the blog post‘Does my bit fit?’, you can read in detail exactly what you should be looking out for.
3. Feel free to have a look inside the horse’s mouth beforehand. Here, too, you can take a photo or video of the tongue in advance, so that we can discuss together whether the tongue is, for example, rather thick or thin, and what anatomical features we need to bear in mind. Feel free to check whether the palatal arch is more curved or flat, and how pointed you find the lower jaw.
Of course, you’re always welcome to pop in to see us at short notice, and we’ll
have a chat and advise you on the spot. However, a consultation is usually even more effective if you have some background information about your horse.
➡️ Why is a suitable bit so important? Horses are individuals: every palate, every tongue and every jaw position is different. Only by looking and examining can we recommend a bit that really fits. Our leaflet‘4 Steps to Finding the Right Bit’ is also a helpful guide when looking for a suitable bit.
Of course, we’ll have our full range with us at the stand, so we can explain and demonstrate the differences between our various bit ranges to you on the spot. Once we’ve found the right bit for your needs and those of your four-legged sporting partner, you can take it home with you straight away. A little teaser: when you buy a bit, you’ll get a free gift!
Buy SPRENGER bits at the CHIO Aachen
We have the following bits available for you: SENSOGAN bits and NATHE bits. In other words, the very best in horse-friendly bits, as our SENSOGAN encourages cooperation, is particularly well accepted by horses and has a positive effect on the willingness to perform and concentration of our sporting and leisure partners. If you’d like to find out more about our SENSOGAN bits , you can read our blog post first, or feel free to pop into our tent at the CHIO and we’ll tell you more.
The high-quality NATHE bits are made from thermoplastic. This material is particularly suitable for sensitive horses or those that prefer plastic bits. Unlike rubber, thermoplastic has a smooth surface, thus preventing an ‘eraser effect’. Furthermore, the material is dimensionally stable, food-safe and free from plasticisers and solvents.
Buy stirrups and spurs at the CHIO Aachen
Are you looking for a new pair of stirrups, or would you like to take a look at our knee-friendly articulated stirrups or the new safety stirrups whilst you’re here? No problem – of course we’ll have our articulated stirrups with us, such as the Bow Balance and the Flexcite, and the new Aero will naturally be on display too.
